Stop Smoking

with Jane Hernandez

It’s a harsh reality that if you’re a smoker you’re more likely to get acute respiratory infections and have a higher risk of those infections becoming severe.

There has never been a better time
to stop the smoking habit.

YES, it’s a habit.

But quitting is hard for many, and perhaps particularly so at a time of great stress and when many of our routines have been so suddenly disrupted.

Perhaps, like the majority of smokers, the mere thought of stopping fills you with fear.

Most smokers continue to smoke for one reason or another…

• Maybe you fear an unknown period of time suffering feelings of deprivation
• Maybe social occasions will not be quite as enjoyable without a cigarette
• Maybe you think you can’t concentrate or be as confident without that crutch
• Perhaps you fear that your identity, your personality or your character will change
• It could be that you don’t want to lose the “helpful friend” that helps you cope with stress and that quitting may cause you to gain a few pounds.

These are all stimuli that may cause a craving and the mind already has knee-jerk associations that influence the response. You feel stress. The stress triggers thoughts of smoking as a stress reliever.   And you react… by smoking.

I approach helping clients stop smoking by first using EFT/Tapping.  Sometimes that’s all that is needed.  It’s quite amazing to stop in one session.

Alison L.

Jane helped me by explaining the process – her patience, her understanding and her wealth of knowledge around EFT work and other supportive modalities.

The big result was my smoking habit stopped at our first session.

I bring in hypnosis to reinforce the EFT.

During hypnosis, you follow relaxation and breathing techniques to reach a trance-like state. This frame of mind is similar to daydreaming; your conscious mind is aware, but at the same time, the mind is disconnected.

While in this state, your mind is relaxed and open to suggestions. It’s detached from the critical, conscious mind – the part of the mind that’s constantly looking for reasons to stay a smoker.

With hypnosis, it’s you who will make the decision to quit.
